Foundations
Both the SAT and ACT test a predetermined inventory of skills and concepts that need to be covered relative to a student's baseline competencies. Key to this process is our collaborative review of diagnostic results and any available prior score reports. With these, we will create a personalized road map that lays out milestones on the way to your target score
Instruction
Sessions begin with a review of any missed or difficult questions from previously assigned problem sets. During instruction, concepts are introduced in the context of their relevance to your score improvement. I draw from official test maker resources for practice questions and illustrative examples. Students are expected to be engaged through the hour and actively apply what we learn to real problems on our interactive whiteboard. All sessions and whiteboards are recorded and available for students to review between sessions.

Assessment and Recalibration
The SAT and ACT are as much about how to not be wrong as they are about how to be right. The key to developing this ability is source of error analysis. Having worked with several hundred students over the past 8 years, I've seen each and every way that a student could miss an SAT or ACT question. After every 4 hours of subject area tutoring, I will assign students a diagnostic and evaluate the results to get as granular detail as possible with respect to sources of error. We will then identify error-producing patterns and tendencies and demonstrate how to guard against such errors in the future
